Access to existing data
Where several projects need access to an existing external dataset, the Relu data support service, in consultation
with the Relu data management subgroup, will consider the case for negotiating access to such data collectively on behalf of
Relu researchers. Researchers should send requests for access to data to Relu-DSS.
Relu-DSS has negotiated free access to Land Cover Map (LCM) data for Relu researchers. Requests for access to LCM data
should be directed to the CEH online Quote Request form
mentioning the Relu award number in the request.
An extensive database of data resources of potential interest to Relu projects is available through the
searchable data resources portal. This database was compiled by the
Relu scoping study
Data resources for rural sustainability research and further extended and updated by the Relu-DSS.
Social survey data held at the UK Data Archive, that can be used for rural and urban analysis, are detailed in a
recent report to the Commission for Rural Communities: Rural markers in datasets
held at the UK Data Archive and its accompanying results table.
