Flavonoid composition and growth analysis of soft fruit and lettuce
Award: RES-224-25-0073
Data type: Quantitative
Data format: MS Excel
Country: United Kingdom
Description: Investigation of the effect of novel types of plastic films (with different transparency to ultraviolet radiation) on the healthy properties of a range of soft fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) as well as red-leaf lettuce grown under polytunnels. These novel types of plastic films were expected to enhance the levels of beneficial phytochemicals in fruits and vegetables and therefore could potentially increase the contribution of fruits and vegetables to the health of the nation. In addition to changes in the phytochemical composition of the crops, the different plastic films had other effects on the crops such as yield and cropping patterns in the context of scheduling production.
